Merry Meet and Welcome;

This piece is one that I started working on back in December 2007 or January 2008, I don't remember which. It did take me a little longer than usual to complete it, I am sure of that. The June newsletter is where I posted it for the first time publicly. Well, anyway, here is my piece entitled:

                                          "Turning the Wheel"
                                              A Celebration

The waxing half of the year has once again begun, and with it we welcome the return of the Sun. The days from here will be getting longer, while the Sun in the sky is getting stronger, and once again we turn the Wheel. The first stirring of the Earth we're beginning to feel. Imbolc is near. Candlemas night, the return of the light. Marking an end to this dark, winters plight. Reminding us soon will be the return of the Spring. With the plush and the greenness of the Earth it will bring. As once again, we turn this Wheel, to Ostara, the warm breezes on our faces we'll soon begin to feel. The vernal equinox, the balance, we all understand, people begin their journeys all over the land. To plant their seeds and prepare the Earth, in honor of the Mother, with hearts full of mirth. As we venture into this season of rebirth, So, once again, we turn this Wheel of the Year, as the midpoint of this journey draws near. Beltaine joins one and all in unions divine, with the Sun overhead in its glory will shine. Summer draws near and this fertile, growing season, people outside everywhere finding it ever so pleasing. And once again we turn this Wheel of the Year, as the waning half of the year draws near. At Litha, Midsummer, the Sun begins its gradual decline, but, we've been bestowed these gracious gifts by the divine. In the bounties of the fields and the fruits on the vine. The harvest season is approaching and soon will be here, as we realize that now is the waning half of the year. The Sun has peaked, shining so brightly up in the sky, is setting earlier by the end of July. And once again, we prepare to turn the Wheel, as the energy of the harvest, no doubt you can feel. Lammas, Lughnasadh, marks the first harvest, reminding us always of how we've been blessed. The fields are abundant with grains and with corn, waiting ever patiently for their time to be reborn. The magical process of making ale from the hops, baking their breads, giving thanks for the crops. And once again, we turn this Wheel of the Year, as the second harvest of three soon will be here. The second harvest, Mabon, we celebrate in September, is a time to give thanks and to always remember. Of a time long ago, when we welcomed the light, yet, once again, day is shorter than night. The autumnal equinox, the balance of this day, as the time will turn the opposite way. Then once again, in darkness we'll stay. So, once again we prepare to turn this Wheel, as the cooler winds of autumn we're beginning to feel. This third harvest at Samhain, we honor the Crone and through divination our destinies shown. The veil between the worlds are the thinnest that night and we welcome our ancestors in our sacred Samhain rite. In celebration we welcome in the Celtic New Year and journey into the darkness without any fear. As the energy all around us, our loved ones are here! And once again we turn this Wheel, as the cold embraces of winter, we're beginning to feel. Yule is upon us, the Winter Solstice, the years longest night. The battle the Oak King and the Holly King will fight, the victor promising the return of the light. As we welcome back the return of the Sun, the waxing half of the year once again, has begun. And as we turn this Wheel of the Year, these ever-revolving cycles become clear. These cycles of life; of birth, death, and rebirth, are the cycles of the Mother, this great planet, Earth!!!

Well, that is the latest piece to be added to my collection of writings. Tia and I have both been working on putting together a few different works that will be included in the Memoirs of Prance. We do hope that you enjoy these poems. I welcome any feed back anyone may want to offer.
