Ostara Ritual 2012/ Spiritpath CUUPS

Our ritual this year was one we had performed 10 years ago. I would like to bring back this beautiful ritual to share with our new members and friends. Blessed Be!

Circle Welcoming Song...followed by soft ritual music

Circle Preparation: East Caller: walks to the East quarter of the altar, lifts the censor and walks deosil around the circle and says " By the element of Air I cleanse and cense this space so that it may be fit to serve as our sacred space. So Mote It Be! Caller returns to their place in the East.

South Caller: walks to the South quarter of the altar, takes up the candle and walks deosil around the circle and say " By the element of Fire I cleanse and purify this space so that it may be fit to serve as our sacred space. So Mote It Be! Caller returns to their place in the South.

West Caller: walks to the West quarter of the altar,takes up the Water and walks deosil around the circle sprinkling water and says " By the element of Water I cleanse and consecrate this space so that it may be fit to serve as our sacred space. So Mote It Be! Caller returns to their place in the West.

North Caller: Walks to the North quarter of the circle, takes up the salt and walks deosil around the circle and says " By the element of Earth, I cleanse and bless this space so that it may be fit to serve as our sacred space.So Mote It Be! Caller returns to their place in the North.

HPs: This night we celebrate the union of the Goddess and the God, the return of the Light and the welcoming of Spring. Life begins to spring forth from Mother Earth and the daylight over takes the darkness. Persephone returns to her mother in the underworld.

It is a time for renewal and rebirth. The Maiden and the young Sun God join and conceive a child. As he grows within her womb, we begin to think of our goals for the year, our aspirations and our dreams.

Let us now cast the circle!

The Maiden takes the besom and sweeps the circle starting in the East. She returns to the South quarter of the circle and takes up the sword and says " I welcome the returning light, embracing it's warmth and feeling it's power within me". She then hands the sword to the HPs.

The HPs casts the circle....

The quarter callers step forward to the altar and take their candles from there. North (green) East (Yellow) South (Red) West (Blue) and then return to their place in their quarter.

The Maiden takes up a white candle from the altar and walks deosil around the circle to the East quarter. The East caller turns and faces East and the Maiden steps beside them and lights the candle of the caller and says " Let us welcome the Watchtower of the East".

East caller: Hail to thee Guardian of the Watchtower of the East, realm of the conscious mind. Join us on this sabbat night, be with us and guard us during our sacred rite. Hail and Welcome!

Maiden walks to the South caller. The South caller faces the South and the Maiden steps beside them and lights the candle of the South caller and says " Let us welcome the Watchtower of the South"

South caller: Hail to thee, Guardian of the Watchtower of the South. Realm of passion and desire. Join us on this sabbat night, be with us and guard us during our sacred rite. Hail and Welcome!

Maiden walks to the West caller. The West caller faces the West and the Maiden steps besdie them, lights the candle and says " Let us welcome the Watchtower of the West."

West caller: Hail to thee Guardian of the Watchtower of the West. Realm of emotions and the subconscious mind. Join us on this sabbat night, be with us and guard us during our sacred rite. Hail and Welcome!

Maiden walks to the North caller. The North caller faces North and the Maiden steps beside them and lights the candle and says " Let us welcome the Watchtower of the North"

North caller: Hail to thee guardian of the Watchtower of the North. Realm of the Horned One and material things. Join us on this sabbat night, be with us and guard us during our sacred rite! Hail and Welcome!

HP: "And Spirit that which makes us all complete and whole, always be within us".

Lighting of the Goddess candle: In the name of Eostre: Tonight we gather at this time of equal darkness and light, welcoming Spring and the return of longer days. Winter is falling behind us and the warmer longer days are only an arm's length away. Birds sing their song and flowers show their new faces! Hail & Welcome!

Lighting of the God candle: In the name of the Horned One: In this moment between time, I come to praise the bountiful young Goddess and Her son-Lover, the Great Horned God of renewal for their blessings of ferility, warmth and life renewed.

Soft Drumming Begins...HPS..Upon this altar lay seeds that shall be planted into Mother Earth..the promise of renewal of all life is begun with one seed growing from Mother Earth to the light of Father Sky...let us bless these seeds that we will take home to remember this scared rite...

Blessings of the seeds: We bless these seeds....from each shall we cultivate, and harvest new life from the Earth....May we be blessed by the beauty and fragrance of the flowers in our garden or the abundance of the vegetables and fruits we plant to savor and feed our souls! So Mote It Be!

Drumming begins to pick up a beat...chant begins repeat 3 times

HPS: begins...For All Things Green and Growing...For All Things Wild and Free! Raise the energy to the sky! Give thanks and grounding!

The Great Rite......Begins with Blessing of the Cakes:

HP raises the blade "See in this blade the esssence of the God and the creative spark of Life!

Hps raises the Cup " See in this Cup the womb of the Goddess, the fertile darkness from which all life springs!

HP inserts blade into the Cup

HP "Behold existence is made manifest"

HPS "Two made One"

HP "Male and Female"

HPs "Light and Dark"

HP Matter and Spirit"

HPS " As above "

HP " So Below"

HPs " As Within"

HP "So Without"

HPs " Infinite balance is created in the union of all things".

HPs raises the Cup to the HP "may you never thirst" HP repeats

HP takes a cake and presents some to the God/dess and to the HPs " may you never hunger..Hps repeats... cake and ale are shared....circle drumming...

Release of the quarters...Staring in the East Maiden snuffs out candle...East caller says" Element of Air Guardian of the Watchtower of the East we do thank thee for attending these rites and for being with us on this sabbat night. Go now from whence ye came come again when next we call. Hail & Farewell

South, West and North all same procedure and words except each it's own element.

HPs: Picks up the sword and opens the circle! Merry Meet, Merry Part and Merry Meet Again!
