1/3/2010Merry Meet and Welcome;
Today is Sunday January 3rd, 2010. The Moon is third quarter, waning, in Leo. Going into Virgo this evening @ 9:52 PM. It's the Celtic tree month of Birch. The New Year, 2010, is upon us and we are preparing for it. Before we do, however, race blindly into the year, a look back at last year is necessary. The year, 2009, was for many people, a year not soon to be forgotten. It was most definitely a year of "change", but not all change is for the better. It was no different here at PTWP, last year ranks among the top five as a very trying year. It seemed the harder we worked to get ahead, the further behind we got. I would have to say that when things get out of hand, at least we can learn from them. Well, even that has it's limits. My own personal lesson for the year, was a very difficult one. Rather than dwell on the negativity, I'd rather employ my principle, which is, "that you never regret what you don't say". The best way to deal with what it is that you can't change is to steer clear of that which is of no use in your life. To profess to be something that you're not, is only fooling yourself. All-in-all, however, we made it through, with minimal damage. The members of this group did give me a renewed sense of motivation, though. Small, as it may be, the foundation of PTWP, is solid! Thank you all, you are our reason for being.
On a brighter note, we did manage to accomplish quite a few things in 2009. Our alliance with the newly-formed Hearthside CCUPS; the continued celebrations of the eight sabbats; the first class of the year-and-a-day program; our first public Samhain celebration in quite a few years; and our success in restoring, "What Do You Know about Witchcraft"; are just a few of the achievements of this past year. Baby steps has always been our philosophy at PTWP. Too much all at once is unrealistic, as well as unthinkable. "Rome wasn't built in a day", nor was Camelot. You need something to look forward to, or there's no motivation for advancement. We are focusing on this new year ahead, and are excited at the prospects. Our projections for growth this year are focused, as usual, on the journey into this next decade. As we near our 14th year as an organization, our commitment remains as steadfast as when we started this venture back in 1996. We are forever in the service of the Lord and the Lady. In love and light.
