PTWP Suggested reading lists.....
|Written by Anthony Guerriero on
2/5/2012Greetings from PTWP;
Today is Sunday November 8th, 2009. The Moon is third quarter, waning, in Leo. Samhain is behind us, and we are into the darkest time of the year. The "Dark times" are the times for us to escape from the mundane and enter into the deepest darkest recesses of our minds. A time to re-evaluate who we are and where we are heading on our journeys. For many, this is a period in their lives that leads them to places that they may be avoiding. It's easy to wrap oneself up in activities to not have to address issues that may be weighing heavy on their minds. This is the time of the year to go within, and get in touch with your subconscious realm. To develop your intuition, tap into the resources that we all have available to enhance our magical abilities. It's also a time to catch up on some reading, and meditation. There are alot of great books out there, and over the past few years, even more have been published. For the sake of those who may be looking for some valuable reading materials, we will be adding books to our newest pages of the PTWP web-site. So as not to overwhelm anyone, we will be taking this slowly. Most of the books that we will include, will be books that we may have already read, and/or utilize for reference within the group. In time, we hope to be able to establish a "book swap", of sorts. At our coffeehouse, we will be encouraging this, and eventually, hope to be able to promote an event on this idea. We have alot of fun activities planned for this coming year, and hope to see you at some of them. With that said, we'd like to start creating our "Suggested reading". So, without further adieu, here are a few of the books we recommend;
One of the first and, one that is required for the year-and-a-day program, is:
The Kyballion by Three Inititiates ***(required for our program)
Wicca: For the Solitary Practitioner by Scott Cunningham
Witchcraft Today By Teresa Moorey
The Witches Bible Complete By Janet and Stewart Farrar
What Witches Do by Janet and Stewart Farrar
Eight Sabbats for Witches by Janet and Stewart Farrar
Positive Magic by Marion Weinstein
A History of Witchcraft (Sorcerers, Heretics, and Pagans) by Jeffrey B. Russell
The Craft by Dorothy Morrison
Ancient Ways by Campanelli
Wheel of the Year by Campanelli
Encyclopedia of Wicca & Witchcraft by Raven Grimassi
The Complete Book of Witchcraft by Raymond Bickland
These are only a few to start on the subject of the Craft, more to come....
Now for some that are Craft-related, yet, not specifically about the Craft.
Very good reading...
The Only Astrology Book You'll ever need by Joanna Martine Woolfolk
Planetary Magick by Denning & Phillips
Celtic Gods/ Celtic Goddesses by R.J. Stewart
Magick of the Gods and Goddesses by D.J Conway
Animal Speak by Ted Andrews

This, as I said before, is only a short list of the many great books and resources out there for our reading pleasure...In time, we will be adding to this list, (we are hoping weekly, but, with our busy schedules, unfortunately, the web-site is always our last venue to get attention paid to it.) so, check here often. We are forever in the service of the Lord and the Lady. In love and light.
