To the "Education" pages of PTWP. Today is Tuesday September 22nd, 2009. The Moon is first quarter, waxing in Scorpio. Mercury is retrograde, and today is Mabon, the second harvest. It has been a very busy and productive period within our group. We are getting ready for our first masquerade ball as Prance The Witches Path. The excitement is building and we're looking forward to this upcoming Samhain season. Fall is upon us, and the journey into the darkness is quickly approaching. We are hoping for a little more free time to pay more attention to the web-site, but that's not looking real promising. We have been extremely busy here, and it looks like it's not slowing down anytime soon. We do apologize to those of you who come to these pages looking for some new material. I am hoping that sometime soon, we will be able to take the site to the next level, and post some of the many pictures of all the activities we have done over this past year. It's been an incredible journey! Our first class has completed their year and a day, and we are starting the second session for those who have chosen to move forward. The next class of first-level will be starting in November, and there are only a couple of spots still available. Schedules are still in planning stages, but, there are alot of activities taking place.
Enough on that, though, on to our topic for today...... Mars; the true ruler of Scorpio.
The planetary ruler for Tuesday is Mars. There's alot to be said for the red planet. Mars energy has always been that of taking action. It's the side of you that's courageous, daring, and downright fearless. It is the energy we invoke when we want to enforce our will to assert ourselves.The metals of Mars are iron and steel. Mars is the planetary ruler of Aries; and was the original ruler of Scorpio. It is exalted in Capricorn. (Recently, I attended a workshop on classic astrology, and it opened my mode of thinking to Mars as my zodiac sign's ruler.)This would explain why even though my Sun is in Scorpio, a water sign, my rising sign is Aries, some consider my personality as fiery. Just kidding, my chart is actually pretty balanced for such a character that I am!!!
The archangel is, Camael; and the intelligence is Graphiel. It's color is red, hence, we call it, "the red planet". The glyph for Mars is also the symbol of man. Mars is most often equated with "male sexuality", while Venus would best be suited for "female sexuality". The energy is thought to be aggressive, and many choose to leave workings concerning Mars to the more adept. Some of the workings may include development of physical strength and courage; justice; legal matters; surgical undertakings; passion, to name a few. Mars is the ancient God of war, not for the faint of heart. This side of you is adventurous, bold, and passionate. On the flip-side is accident-prone, cruel, and violent. Personally, though, when I think of Mars energy, passion would be my choice for keywords. Not just in the sense of sexuality, but in every aspect of existence. A passion for life, and all it has to offer. It's how I've chosen to live my life. I have come to this point in my life where I feel that anything worth doing, is worth doing good. It feels good!!!
