Initiation: A Vow A Commitment A New Life

Written by Marie Guerriero on 7/31/2009

Greetings,
Since the year 1996, we have been commited to teaching those who have come to us with a sincere desire to learn and grow with us on this path. Many people have come and gone. Some have stayed for a while and some for years. The end results of what they have learned, depend on how dedicated and commited they have become to their Craft. Their will and desire to further their knowledge and study depend on their attendence and observation of all eight sabbats for at least a year and a day. Though many people view Witchcraft as an alternative path...it is far more than that. It is a pre-Christian, pre-Judiac, way of life and survival. It is the total celebration of life and all nature compounded. Based on agriculture and fertility, we revere Mother Earth and all the blessings we have been bestowed. The continuation of life and it's cycles in harmony with nature and the elements and the connection to the Divine open our eyes to the reality of magick all around us. Witchcraft is a religion.

Initiation brings us into a new realm. One of a new life and beginning where we are open and aware of this magickal life as we see the world thru a Witch's eyes. With this elevation comes great commitment and total dedication. This is not for the faint of heart. As every Witch that has embarked on this knows, with initiation comes great challenges and trials. To be in service to the Gods also means to be proven and deemed worthy of such work. It is far more than candles, incense, jewelry, robes, and even ritual....it is 24/7 of dedication for the greater good.

When we began this journey and our lessons, we sought out our teachers and worked hard to determine just what it was we were seeking. We were not initiated after a year and a day nor two...we took our time and carefully thought out just what this would entail. I can remember selling our computer to be able to afford classes. I remember endless days and hours commuting to Salem for classes. Celebrating ALL eight sabbats was a requirement and as a neophyte in the Temple of Nine Wells many years ago I remember our always decorating and planning with the rituals. Many hours of study and work went into our decision to finally seek initiation. Because this is a large commitment, and should not be taken lightly I have set certain guidelines as to who I initiate.

The HP / HPS after your name are far more than title or rank. Therefore please remember when you decide to petition for initiation that you have carefully reviewed the above.

Please note that as in the past when the time has come for initiations we will address all who have met the requirements.

Blessings,
Tia
