2/5/2009 Aquamarine is a stone that has the beautiful shades of greens and blues of the Sea! It is absolutely beautiful and soothing to look at. This stone is helpful for tuning into the depths of the self and attaining balance within. It brings us closer to our spiritual quest and also gives us emotional and stabile balance allowing us to focus and think clearly.
Aquamarine is a very compassionate stone and can also help those who tend to be harsh or judgemental of others. Though the stone appears a soft color and gentle on the eyes...it is also a strong stone that can also be used for protection. It can also aid in healing and can be used especially in the area of the throat chakra. It also is used for healing swollen glands and also in aiding with clear vision.
As I work in the Marine Industry I happen to meet alot of people who make their living from the sea. I also encounter many people who for years have lived at sea. I have been told that an aquamarine either tumbled or gem quality has been known to have been worn or carried by many sea people for protection. I found that very interesting although not surprising. When I look deeply into the stone the color seems to bring to mind a beautiful Carribean sea.
Aquamarine is astrologically linked to the signs of Gemini, Pisces & Aries. I have had many Pisces friends and also family who have worn the most beautiful aquamarine jewelry.
