A Yule-Tide Poem....... |

Last year, I had quite a bit of inspiration writing poetry. It became a little hobby for me and I really enjoyed creating some of these pieces (actually, all of them). Time, however, got scarse and I did not have enough of it to continue this. One of the last pieces that I did write last year, was this little piece; entitled; "The Return of the Light". It was a Yule poem, so in time for the season, here it is:
" Samhain brought the darkness and the long, cold, winters nights. In downtown Boston, they lit up the lights. The tall, green tree outside of the store, lit up ever so brightly over the door. A sign of this season, the evergreen trees; the Yule-log adorned on the mantle to please. The sounds all around us, of this time filled with cheer, the search has begun for Father Yule's reindeer. There's a hope and a promise that fills all the Earth, this is the season we hope for rebirth.
The return of the light, and of longer days, to the mighty Sun, we offer him praise. Never forgetting from where it is we came, in sabbat celebration, we call out her name. The Goddess has given birth to the "Shining One", and with this, the waxing half of the year has begun! The battle that they wage at this time of the year, will remind us again that spring-time is near. And so, we cherish this return of the light, take the time to put aside your plight. Wishing one and all, the blessings of this time of the year, may it be filled with merriment and good cheer!!! And with this I end these verses I write, sending them out in love and in light."
This piece was written last year just before Yule, in November 2007. It took a back-seat to my favorite piece, which is "Turning the Wheel". You will be getting a copy of this for your Book of Shadows. I hope that you have enjoyed my writings, and that very soon, I will get some inspiration to write more. (Along with a little extra time to write, as well.) Although my time has been used very productively as far as I am concerned. Sharing what I have learned with others has been an integral part of my own spiritual development this past year. Writing, teaching, and sharing has been very, very, good to me. ( Just a feeble attempt at some humor!)Thank you to all of the group, the very best wishes from us to you, this Yule season. Looking forward to another great year ahead! We are forever in the service of the Lord and the Lady. In love and light.
